EPS: The Evolution of Smart Living Solutions
During an online forum, Péter Zsák, Senior Consultant at EPS, shared insights on smart home and hotel market trends in Europe and the ongoing digital transformation driven by IoT.
EPS was founded in 2017 with the aim to deliver easy, perfect solutions to customers. With a focus on the housing and hospitality markets, the company’s portfolio of end-to-end offers is increasingly embedded with IoT solutions. For example, in Eastern and Central Europe, EPS realizes that there is a strong demand for energy or utility management as the size of household, city or country continues to grow. Therefore, the conservation, changeling and levelling of energy become critical when it comes to optimal energy efficiency and cost saving.
In Europe, since lighting automation and heating/cooling solutions are very important for people, there is a burning need for a universal plug and play solution. By partnering with Tuya Smart, (NYSE: TUYA), a global IoT development platform service provider, EPS gains intimate access to manufacturers who are part of the smart ecosystem, allowing it to focus on the development of new hardware and the implementation of a connected platform, without the hassle around firmware compatibility. The launch of Matter, the unified IP-based connectivity protocol, is also expected to supercharge the development of the IoT industry.
Customer education is also a huge part of the development of the industry. Péter pointed out, that “(it’s like) we are at the time when car was invented, and after the T model was coming –everybody was able to buy them, but they didn’t know what they can do with that,” said Péter. Providing end users the chance to interact with the devices will make all the difference. This is why EPS is working with Tuya to develop an experiential living environment for customers to immerse in a smart setting. Péter believes it is EPS’ responsibility to provide open solutions in a transparent market. By partnering with Tuya, the company aims to penetrate not only the Hungarian market, but try to the central European market.
“IoT is the future of digital technology,” said Péter, “as we are trying to integrate everything in a hotel or home, there are a lot of small points which should be fitted together, like in a puzzle, to get the big picture.”
