Tuya Smart Shines at the 2025 HYSTA Annual Conference: Joining Forces with Global Chinese Innovators to Shape the Future of AI Tuya Smart (NYSE: TUYA, HKEX: 2391), a global AI cloud platform service provider, attended the 26th HYSTA Annual Conference hosted by the Hua Yuan Science and Technology Association (HYSTA) in Silicon Valley on October 18, 2025. The conference, themed “Rising AI: Autonomous Agents, Embodied Intelligence, and the Future of Humanity,” gathered global Chinese innovators at the forefront of AI. The event brought together AI leaders from Google, NVIDIA, Tuya, and other tech companies, alongside researchers from Stanford University and Columbia University, and a new generation of AI entrepreneurs. Innovators across industries explored key topics including the future trends of Generative AI, Autonomous Agents, and Embodied Intelligence, and the ways in which intelligent technologies are reshaping the relationship between humans and the world.

Founded in 1999, HYSTA has evolved from a community of Chinese student technologists into a key platform connecting global technology entrepreneurs. Over the past 26 years, it has witnessed the rise and transformation of Silicon Valley’s innovation waves and has become an important bridge linking international innovation ecosystems.
The Power of Chinese Innovators in the AI Era
The rapid advancement of AI is reshaping the global technology landscape.
According to data from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), 65 of the world’s top 100 AI experts are of Chinese backgrounds. Whether in the core laboratories of Silicon Valley tech giants or on the frontlines of AI enterprises, Chinese researchers and entrepreneurs are redefining the technological foundations and business logic of the AI industry.
Yanbing Li, Chairwoman of HYSTA 2025 and Chief Product Officer at Datadog, highlighted how AI is reshaping industries from autonomous agents to embodied intelligence. She reaffirmed HYSTA’s mission is to elevate leadership and entrepreneurship for Chinese Americans in North America.
From Algorithms to Ecosystems: The New Direction of AI Entrepreneurship
At the annual conference, Lin Qiao, Co-founder and CEO of Fireworks AI, introduced the concept of Artificial Autonomous Intelligence, highlighting that the next frontier of AI lies beyond single-model performance. Instead, true innovation will come from deep co-adaptation between models and products, achieving a dynamic balance among reliability, interpretability, and real-world performance.

Bill Jia, Google’s VP of Engineering for Core ML/AI, former SVP at Meta and HYSTA Board Member, emphasized that the future of AI lies in integrated innovation, where algorithms, data, systems, and products advance together.

Ed Chi, VP of Research from Google DeepMind noted that compared to Chain-of-Thought reasoning, Reinforcement Learning has demonstrated greater stability in model inference. Yangqing Jia emphasized that “the trustworthiness of AI lies not in the technology itself, but in how it’s used.” Ramine Roane added that generative AI continues to push boundaries in logical reasoning and creative tasks, citing the exceptional performance of former Olympiad medalists working in the field.

At the panel discussion “Consumer Tech at a Crossroads: AI, Global Growth, and New Market Frontiers,” Becker Hao, Director of Business Development for North America at Tuya, remarked:“At present, AI is driving smart devices to evolve from passive executors into collaborative intelligent agents (Scene Collaborators) that can perceive their environment, understand user intentions, and autonomously adapt their behavior. Tuya Smart is committed to lowering the barriers to AI development through its TuyaOpen open-source framework and AI Agent platform, helping global enterprises quickly integrate intelligent capabilities into their products and achieve intelligent upgrades.”

Physical AI: When Intelligence Steps into the Real World
As AI increasingly converges with the physical world, Physical AI has become the focal point of the next technological wave.
At this year’s HYSTA Annual Conference, Tuya’s exhibition booth drew significant attention. Its showcase of AI-powered hardware—including smart control panels, AI pan-tilt display cameras, and AI interactive dolls—demonstrated how AI perception and action are being embedded into everyday life.

Smart Control Panel: Supports Alexa voice interaction and semantic understanding, enabling whole-home control from one screen.
AI P&T Camera: Equipped with MOT-based target tracking and trajectory prediction algorithms for stable, smooth image capture.
AI Toy: Uses AI algorithms to recognize user emotions and display different facial expressions such as excitement or sadness, enhancing interactivity and engagement.
These innovations are more than product demonstrations—they represent real-world applications of intelligent agent commercialization.
Openness, Collaboration, and Implementation: The New Spirit of Silicon Valley
In an era where AI is reshaping global innovation, the 2025 HYSTA Annual Conference embodied a renewed Silicon Valley spirit—open collaboration, rapid iteration, and practical implementation.
Tuya’s participation and showcase at the conference went beyond technological demonstration—it was a declaration of the company’s commitment to advancing AI commercialization through an open, neutral, and global ecosystem.
Looking ahead, Tuya will continue to collaborate with developers worldwide, leveraging technology as its foundation and ecosystem as its driving force. Together, Tuya and its partners aim to explore the endless possibilities of “AI for Humanity” in this new era of human-AI symbiosis.
