As a high level member Promoter of the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) and an active contributor to the Matter standard, Tuya Smart (NYSE: TUYA, HKEX: 2391), a global AI cloud platform service provider, continues to play a key role in advancing smart connectivity protocols. By offering integrated hardware-software solutions compatible with multiple protocols, Tuya helps developers lower Matter certification costs, accelerate product development cycles, and reduce time to market, thereby enabling them to gain a competitive edge in the smart era.
To date, Tuya has fully upgraded its Matter product portfolio to version 1.3 and has obtained 366 Matter certifications. Tuya is also the world’s first company to provide both complete Matter product solutions and Matter Non-VID PAA security certificates. Its end-to-end solutions cover more than 20 product categories, including Matter gateways, sockets (with and without metering), switches, lighting, fan lights, sensors, curtains, door locks, and robot vacuums. Over 40 global brand partners have successfully launched Matter-certified products into mass production with Tuya’s support. Notably, the deployment of Tuya-enabled Matter devices has seen a five-fold year-over-year increase from 2023 to 2024, with millions of units already installed across apartments, hotels, and residential homes worldwide as of early June 2025.

One of Tuya’s key partners, a leading U.S.-based smart home integration service provider, has been working with Tuya since 2020. In 2023, when the Matter 1.1 standard was released, the partner made the strategic decision to upgrade all of its existing Wi-Fi products to Matter over Wi-Fi devices, based on Matter’s security, openness, and their deep trust in Tuya’s technical capabilities.
During this collaboration, Tuya delivered a full range of Matter solutions covering over 30 SKUs in lighting and electrical categories, including switches, sockets, and luminaires. Tuya provided comprehensive support across the entire product lifecycle, from hardware development and Matter certification to mass production and deployment. To meet the unique demands of engineering projects, Tuya also offered customized development of both the app and device firmware, enabling local group control and binding functionalities for Matter devices even in offline environments, thereby greatly enhancing user experiences in smart homes, hotels and apartments.

With Tuya’s support, the partner has now achieved large-scale Matter-based smart apartment deployments across multiple U.S. cities, with a steadily growing volume of installed devices year over year. The success of Tuya’s solutions for Matter has not only driven tangible business outcomes but also reinforced market confidence and strengthened the partner’s commitment to embracing the Matter standard. Moving forward, the partner plans to expand its Matter product line with Tuya’s help into categories such as sensors, gateways, IP cameras, etc.
At the Matter Open Day event on June 12, Tuya showcased its full suite of Matter-compatible solutions, drawing significant attention from attendees. Tobin Richardson, President and CEO of the Connectivity Standards Alliance, remarked, “What started as early-stage enthusiasm for Matter has matured into industry-wide confidence and collaboration. Over the past 2.5 years, the number of participating members has grown steadily, and open standards have become an inevitable path for building a connected world. With the continued contributions of members like Tuya, Matter will continue evolving into a more unified and refined global smart home standard.”
Looking ahead, Tuya will continue to pursue a tightly integrated Matter + Tuya’s PaaS strategy, regularly updating to the latest Matter protocols, expediting certification updates, and expanding support for more device types, including control panels, IP cameras, Thread board routers, and water valves, in order to further accelerate the global adoption of Matter-enabled smart solutions.
